ARTIST BIO

Evelyn Joy Art is an ever-evolving business in all things creative. Creating beautiful & unique artworks on large scale & working one on one with my diverse clients to bring their ideas to life is my passion.

I use a mixture of Ink, Airbrush, and Acrylic paints in the majority of my work, I'm inspired by nature and driven by colour.

A bit of history, I was born and grew up in Batemans Bay, growing up in a family of 9 children you could imagine was always a loud and busy household. Safe to say, being sent to my room was never a problem because it was my happy place, a quiet place where sketching and creativity would come alive.

I left my home town at 16 to travel for the next ten years; I lived in most states of Australia and overseas, where the world became my inspiration to create more elaborate artworks.

I would seek creativity in any way I could, for the majority of my life I've been working in hospitality, running restaurants and bars this never stopped me from using my creativity throughout the restaurants with designing restaurant fit-outs, presentation of food, beverages, menus, marketing and signwriting. I can make a great cocktail! However, after nearly four years working alongside my brothers. It was time to step back and start utilising the skills and potential they could bring by starting my own business Evelyn Joy ART in 2018. With my main focus creating commissioned large scale artworks for businesses and private clients.

It wasn't until New Years of 2019 when the South Coast area suffered severely from the catastrophic bushfires that I alongside family, friends, and many others lost everything we owned - my house, cars, art studio and years of artworks, childhood and travel memorabilia.

For me, it was a wake-up call, an opportunity to start fresh, time to start my solo journey completely stepping away from the family business, and moving into the new year more robust and without the loss of my skills to pursue my career as an artist.
Now more than ever I am committed to enhancing the community spirit, brightening up the town and spreading a whole lot of colour to the broader communities of the beautiful South Coast along the way.
